Who Are You For?

Today Christianity, God, Jesus, and the cross are under attack. You have two options. Stand or fly. Either we engage or stand back. At first, it seems we shouldn't get involved. After all, why should we get in the fight and oppose wrong view points? Christians are supposed to be peacemakers, right?

But are we peacemakers at the cost of our beliefs and morals? Do we not make a ruckus and let God be pushed to the sidelines? There's this misnomer that as a Christian, you won't cause chaos. Wrong. Jesus Himself said, “I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34, NASB.) The disciples threw Jerusalem in an uproar after Jesus ascended. You don't think Noah made waves when he built the ark? We can't remain neutral towards Christ. Some Christians go to church, read their Bibles, pray over their food, and talk the talk. But then we stay silent when controversial topics come up. We can't go into those subjects. God can't be brought in.

If you were asked the question, “Are you for Jesus?” you might answer a definite yes or a definite no. Or you might shrug your shoulders and say, “I don't have an opinion”. But in stating that, you're stating your opinion. “The one who is not with me is against Me; and the one who does not gather with Me scatters.” (Matthew 12:30, NASB.)

Now, that's not to say Christians should start a riot or purposefully invoke a heated debate and insult those who don't believe what they believe. We're not called to provoke others to wrath. But we are called to stand for Christ. If we don't say anything, then we deny Him and His ways. Silence is consent (Matthew 10:33).

The world is pushing a view without much resistance. We must come up against it and show others a different way. They won't know until you show them. Facing the problem isn't fun, but people won't know there's another way until they see it in you and until you tell them. We are in a war. There are two sides, God and Satan. You must choose a side. If you're not for Christ, you're against Him. It's as simple as that. You can say you're for Him all the live long day, but your actions will prove it.

The time has come to make a decision. Who are you for?
