Dead Drift is the fourth and final book in Dani Pettrey's Chesapeake Valor series. Cold Shot, Still Life, and Blind Spot have all build up to this book and the finale is spectacular. I'm so excited to share Luke's story today!
Plot Summary
After spending the last seven years of his life chasing a terrorist, Luke Gallagher comes back into his friends' lives again to stop a biological attack. His girlfriend, Kate Maxwell, is torn between relief that he's home and fury that he walked away without a word. But personal feelings can't get in the way of their task if they're going to stop a terrorist from inflicting a dangerous weapon on innocent people. Will they be able to sort out their relationship, or will the twisted mind of a criminal take them out first?
Content Warnings
None.
Personal Thoughts
All throughout the series I was dying to know more about Luke. This book answered all of my questions and I loved it so much! The conflict between Luke and Kate was understandable, given he just up and disappeared. This book picks up on the same night Blind Spot ended and takes off from there. While the action kept me hooked, I most enjoyed Kate and Luke working out their relationship.
Another aspect I liked is Jenna's cold case finally getting solved! For the last three books more and more evidence has come out and in this book we finally get justice for her.
