9 Songs Celebrating the Resurrection and Salvation

The resurrection is the greatest triumph in history. On the cross Christ sacrificed Himself and defeated sin and paid our sin debt. On Easter Sunday He rose again and showed He has power over humanity's most feared enemy – death.

Because of the crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection, we can be saved from our sin and live forever with God in heaven.

Our sins caused a gulf between us and God, leaving us with only one destination: Hell. Because of God's love for us though, Jesus offered Himself to pay the price with His life. God accepted the offer and His Son came to earth to die for us, making a way for us to be saved. “But what does it say? 'The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' - that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10: 8-9, NASB.)

Some believe that the good things we do out weigh our bad. Somehow if we're “good people” we'll be saved. But the Bible makes it clear that is not the case. “For whoever keeps the whole Law, yet stumbles in one point, has become guilty of all.” (James 2:10, NASB.) It is only by faith in Jesus we can be saved. “Nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified.” (Galatians 2:16, NASB.)

We don't need to worry about our salvation. Instead we can rest in what Jesus has done. All we have to do is repent and believe in Jesus (Mark 1: 15). That is something to celebrate. Below are songs that celebrate that.
